Dear Working Group,

Rob Smith has been working hard on the Web Video Map Tracks Format (WebVMT) Note [1] these last few years. His aim is to publish this document as a W3C Note and we now believe it is mature enough to do so. We hope a published Note will stimulate new implementations and will help support and strengthen the user community.

A group review has been recently conducted and feedback has been addressed [2].

Therefore, I propose to publish the WebVMT Note [1] as a W3C Group Note. Please let us know any comments or objections as soon as possible, and in any case no later than May 24, 2023. If no comments/objections are made known to us, we will consider this group approval.

As per our charter, endorsing this publication as a W3C Group Note also means endorsing it as an OGC Discussion paper (pending approval by OGC members).

Linda van den Brink and Jeremy Tandy,
SDWWG Chairs
