Dear All, Here is an issue in the latest draft of the Time Ontology http://w3c.github.io/sdw/time/ for discussion and resolution. Same as issues 9 and 10. Propose some of this text use to explain issue and need for further work. Apologies for not grouping these issues together - I am in serial mode;-) Chris ---------------- B. Time Zone Vocabulary Issue 12 [No link] The time zone ontology and vocabularies is less mature than the time ontology. It includes a taxonomy of jurisdictions (Region, PoliticalRegion, Country, State, Reservation, County, City) which does not cover all international practice. It refers to GMT, rather than UTC. It has fixed dates for daylight savings start and end, else uses a time-sequence ontology which is not provided. Appears to need more work. ---------------- Chris Little Co-Chair, OGC Meteorology & Oceanography Domain Working Group IT Fellow - Operational Infrastructures Met Office FitzRoy Road Exeter Devon EX1 3PB United Kingdom Tel: +44(0)1392 886278 Fax: +44(0)1392 885681 Mobile: +44(0)7753 880514 E-mail: chris.little@metoffice.gov.uk http://www.metoffice.gov.uk I am normally at work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week
