Welcome aboard Byron :-)  I'm also learning the ropes and will probably
have similar questions.

I do think we can usefully focus on the path to implementation - and
whether practices proposed are going to be understandable in an SDI
context, and offer identifiable benefits. I have some reasonably broad
experience in the "how to implement" - but you can hopefully champion the
ultimate end-user stakeholder's perspective here :-)
