Thanks for the explanation Dan. I appreciate the need to wait and see how things pan out.

Best regards

Hi Dan,

With the new monthly release process, when do terms get moved from pending to the main vocabulary?

We generally will move things to the core when there is some evidence of usage by a consuming application. The more modest and uncomplicated the addition, the less this is critical.

For example, the variableMeasured property has been in pending since November 2016. Are there any plans for this to move to the core?
https://github.com/schemaorg/schemaorg/issues/1425

In this specific case, which touches on the relationship between Schema.org's Dataset model and W3C DCAT (from which it was derived), I would not rush it into main just yet. W3C is still finishing updates to the next version of DCAT. There are also related designs around Data Cube as well as the efforts at http://datacommons.org/, as well as the associated property https://schema.org/measurementTechnique ... i.e. lots going on in this space, so I would prefer we wait to see what people actually implement against.

Dan

Thanks

Dear Schema.org<http://Schema.org> Community Group, Steering Group, interested parties,

Based on discussions here and in Github, here is a proposal for a new Schema.org<http://Schema.org> release, version 3.6:

 http://webschemas.org/docs/releases.html#v3.6

The release notes page is not yet updated with links to the changed terms. Please instead see the Github tracker https://github.com/schemaorg/schemaorg/issues/2193
for detailed (and properly hyperlinked) to the various (pretty modest) changes proposed for 3.6.

I'll also summarize here. Merged in for 3.6 release candidate review:

#2203 Add Service to rangeIncludes of orderedItem
#2204 Add LodgingBusiness to domainIncludes of numberOfRooms
#2174 Added number formatting advice to Number and relevant properties
#2082 Fix RDFa example for Website
#2077 Fix JSON-LD example for availableLanguage
#2055 That's not what she said!
#2054 README correct two spelling mistakes
#2036 Fix broken url term in ItemList example
#2029 defining workload of a course instance
 #2013 Fix typo in hotels.html
#2003 Improvements to descriptions of CampGround and CampingPitch
#1989 isLiveBroadcast example: link instead of meta element
#1937 Add a direct link to Developers page from Schemas page
#1607 Makes CatholicChurch subclass of Church
#1975 correcting format of durations, fixes #1470; correcting examples in timeRequired. Fixes #1469
#2202 Restored estimatedSalary as a property expected on the JobPosting type.

This is targeted for May 1st. Bugs, mistakes,
typos, modeling and example improvements and other detailed review
comments are welcome here or in the issue tracker at
 https://github.com/schemaorg/schemaorg/issues/2193

(We should also start thinking about a v3.7 for June 1st.)

 cheers,

 Dan

ps. as usual there are a few pieces of the release that will be put together
at the end (anything involving exact release dates, dated snapshots etc.,
plus a better release summary and hyperlinking of terms in the release notes).

pps. there is a bug with the courseWorkload definition<https://github.com/schemaorg/schemaorg/pull/2029> I'm still investigating; the new term isn't showing up yet. Will fix before release.
