All the Things in the full list of Schema.org<http://Schema.org> Types appear to be nouns. HistoricallySignificant, an adjective, seems not to belong logically in a group of Things, it seems to me. I was looking for something like HistoricalThing.
I think a type that says “this is significant in historical terms” would be valuable for heritage sites and important artifacts and so on, but I’m not so sure it would make sense when one is saying “in the context of the text on this page or site, this is a historical thing.” Something that can be considered historical might be rather insignificant, but of historical interest all the same.

My current preference being HistoricallySignificant.
Taking this approach would enable the description of any Thing using the current power and flexibility of the vocabulary, then adding an additional type to indicate that the thing has HistoricallySignificant-ness.
