My mistake. If you tell curl to printed to be Firefox no microdata is returned.

curl --header "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHSIYGP0l_w |grep itemprop

...yields nothing
