Itemscope identifies that this is an item. Itemtype specifies what kind of item, i.e., which schema to reference. Please take a look at the documentation. This is one of the first things explained. https://schema.org/docs/gs.html From: Shujia Liu [mailto:liushujia@outlook.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 16, 2016 12:04 PM To: public-schemaorg@w3.org Subject: itemscope issue Hi, I was learning how to use schema.org to mark up my webpage. And I find something interesting that why we need "itemscope" since we have "itemtype". I mean, each "itemscope" label is followed by an "itemtype" label. Can I just ignore the "itemscope" label. Thanks Shujia
