If you have access to the 'publication date of first manifestation', yes. But the publication dates of subsequent manifestations (eg of the paperbacks, of the e-books, of the new set of manifestations with film tie-in covers, or of the Blu-ray manifestations of the Star Wars films) may well obscure the original publication order.

But all these nuances may be inappropriate in the schema.org<http://schema.org> context, of course.
