Update on the Shape the Future research symposium

Hi everyone,

I'd like to just briefly update you on the symposium status.
- Registrations: it's not easy for me to keep track of the registrations,
but from the emails I'm getting we should have over 40 people registered at
this point . This is above my expectations considering there is more than
one month left and we haven't published the program yet.
- Review committee: we have already 20 reviewers registered on the
platform, and 3 that agreed but haven't registered yet. This is also above
my expectations. We had a very positive response to our invitations. In my
past experience, it's not usual to get such a positive response when
inviting people for reviewing work.
- Submissions: we only have one so far, and there is only one week left.
This is aligned with my expectations. Usually, the majority of the
submissions are made on the final day. Which tends to be a very
stressful one, because we never know if we will have a decent amount of
submissions until the very end.

As a final reminder: if you want to make sure that a specific topic is
discussed in the symposium, there is no better option than submitting a
position paper on the topic! Keep that in mind, and prepare a submission!

Cheers,
Carlos
