The following are relevant to our orientation and navigation discussion.

Brown, A., Pettifer, S., & Stevens, R. (2004, October). Evaluation of a non-visual molecule browser. In ACM SIGACCESS Accessibility and Computing
(No. 77-78, pp. 40-47). ACM.

Machulla, T., Avila, M., Wozniak, P., Montag, D., & Schmidt, A. (2018, June). Skim-reading Strategies in Sighted and Visually-Impaired Individuals:
A Comparative Study. In Proceedings of the 11th PErvasive Technologies Related to Assistive Environments Conference
(pp. 170-177). ACM.

Note that in the second paper, skim-reading of scientific documents (papers and textbook materials) was investigated, which makes the paper relevant to our work.
