I'm in the process of cleaning up the issues list and found this: The text of ISSUE-40 as it was entered from F2F7 (and subsequently) is shown below. We have closed part A&C. Part B was not closed by any resolution, as our process requires, but has effectively been closed by the BLD semantics. So in order to tidy this one up and close the issue formally, I propose the following resolution for next week: PROPOSED: BLD builtins are not sensitive to order as they are in query languages and production rules (closing issue-40) Text of ISSUE-40 [http://www.w3.org/2005/rules/wg/track/issues/40]: At the moment the WG has agreed to support \"builtins\", in particular those defined for supported XS datatypes, however the syntactic and semantic treatment of builtins has not been made clear. A) One issue is how they will relate to functions in the syntax (e.g. are builtins just logic functions?). B) Another issue is whether builtins will be sensitive to \"order\" as they are in query languages and production rules; in these cases, the order is understood to be required to \"bind\" variables before the builtin is called. C) Another issue is how to treat errors in predicates and functions. -- Dr. Christopher A.
