Rif WG, We are pleased to announce that Allen Ginsberg and David Hirtle have agreed to serve as editors for the Use Cases and Requirements note. They have already begun their job by preparing the new Use Cases template for the Wiki, and will be collecting and synthesizing the note from the Wiki submissions. At the f2f there was some discussion about whether use case submitters shoudl be required to use a prescribed template. While the reasons against choosing this course were legitimate, in the end we decided to require it, as the rapid turn-around time for the UC&R note clearly suggests the work shoudl be distributed instead of centralized. So, if you already have use cases (many were already emailed to the group), please do the best job you can "shoe-horning" it into the wiki template. In particular, the wiki template has several sections specifically designed to get you, the submitter, to think about how the use case impacts the work on RIF, e.g. what existing rule systems support the use case? how does intererability factor into your use case? etc. -CC&S (Chris, Christiane & Sandro) Dr. Christopher A.
