I am the principal for the MIND lab at the University of Maryland at College Park. I'll be at the F2F. I've been at the MIND lab for 3 years or so and have conducted and directed research on various aspect of the Semantic Web and related technologies, especially OWL and Semantic Web Services. I'm a member of the WSDL and Data Access Working Groups, and have participated in the OWL-S Coalition and SWSL committee. I have led the development of the Swoop OWL editor and the Pellet OWL reasoner both of which have been extended with (preliminary) support for various sorts of rules (notably, an AL Log like combination). I care about services that make KR formalisms usable, such as axiom pinpointing for debugging, visualization, partitioning, and change management. I will be leaving the MIND lab this spring/early summer to take up a lectureship at the University of Manchester, whereupon I'll be yielding principality of membership, but will likely continue on in support of Uli Sattler. I don't know about expectations, but my hope is that the group can be very deflationary about our tasks and products. Which an excitable chap, I aspire to cool sophistication. Cheers, Bijan.
