[A small variant on the last use case. Dave] ** HP-2 Conditional message transformation * Outline: This is an extension to use case HP-1 (message transformation). In HP-1 a transformed message sometimes required missing data to be inserted in the form of static or locally computed results. In this extension use case there is a set of auxiliary services (Ci) that can supply the missing information. A typical example is where the third service is a resource registry which holds additional published information on the resources in IA. The transformation rules are required to consult one or more of the Ci to obtain attribute values needed to complete the transformation from IA to IB. * Implications Rule patterns which include specification of a separate fact base to consult. One could imagine variants on this use case where there may be conflicting information in the different Ci sources and the rule set would be required to implement a trust policy, expression of which would involve quantification over fact bases.
