"Principal" and "Attending F2F" > -- a bio summarizing experience you have that's relevant to the > work of this group I am a senior fellow at the Jozef Stefan Institute, Department of Knowledge Technologies. I got my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1988 from University of Ljubljana. I was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, visiting profesor at George Mason University (VA) and at the Technical University of Vienna and senior research fellow at the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence. My main research interests are in machine learning, logic-based knowledge representation and model-based reasoning. Currently, my research focus is in improving machine learning and data/text/web mining techniques by using deep, common sense knowledge. > -- as much contact info as you care to share on this public list see below > -- what you expect to get out of this WG A web rule language with declarative as well as procedural (operational) semantics. Further, the language should cover not only manually created rules, but machine generated ones as well. > -- what you hope/expect to contribute. At JSI we have extensive experience in large scale text and web mining. I expect to convey the importance of automatically extracted relations, rules, ontologies,... from the web data, and hope to influence the language design to include the necessary expressivity. ____________ Igor Mozetic Department of Knowledge Technologies Jozef Stefan Institute phone: +386 1 477-3129 Jamova 39 fax: +386 1 477-3131 1000 Ljubljana mailto:igor.mozetic@ijs.si Slovenia http://ponta.ijs.si/mozetic/
