Hi, The WebRTC Working Group has republished a WD of its MediaStreamTrack Content Hint specification. https://www.w3.org/TR/2020/WD-mst-content-hint-20200728/ The Working Group is seeking wide review of this publication before publishing a CR, from the TAG, PING, i18n, APA and the Media and Entertainment groups. We also welcome reviews from any other interested entity. Latest Editor's draft: https://w3c.github.io/mst-content-hint/ GH repository: https://github.com/w3c/mst-content-hint Abstract This specification extends MediaStreamTrack to provide a media-content hint attribute. This optional hint permits MediaStreamTrack consumers such as PeerConnection (defined in [webrtc]) or MediaRecorder (defined in [mediastream-recording]) to encode or process track media with methods more appropriate to the type of content that is being consumed. Adding a media-content hint provides a way for a web application to help track consumers make more informed decision of what encoder parameters and processing algorithms to use on the consumed content. -- Carine Bournez /// W3C Europe
