Last year, the Social Web WG (SWWG) brought the de facto Publish/Subscribe standard known as "PubSubHubbub" (or "PuSH") into the W3C Rec-Track process, under the name "WebSub". The group has been developing a test suite (websub.rocks <https://websub.rocks/>) and clarifying the spec. Our intent is that existing, interoperable PubSubHubbub implementations will be conformant WebSub implementations, without needing to be updated unless they differ from generally deployed practice. We'd like to advance to Candidate Recommendation very soon, so we'd appreciate some quick reviews. The spec is short: about 15 pages including changelog and references. https://w3c.github.io/websub/ Please take a look, and make any comments via github issues. We are particularly interested in editorial improvements and clarifications. We are postponing all proposals which would require the bulk of implementation to change, but you may submit them "for future versions". If the comment is just a suggestion, and you don't need a response from the Working Group, please say that as well. WebSub is not only for "social" (eg blog) content, although that's mostly where it's currently used. If at all possible, we would appreciate your comments this week! Thanks, -- Sandro Hawke, W3C Staff Contact, Social Web Working Group
