Another late announcement... On 13 April 2017 the CSS WG published an updated Working Draft of the CSS Image Values and Replaced Content Module Level 4: https://www.w3.org/TR/css-images-4/ This module defines the CSS <image> type and several properties for handling replaced elements. It includes and extends the functionality of CSS level 2 and in the previous level of this specification [css3-images]. The main extensions compared to Level 3 are several additions to the <image> type: the image() notation, the element() notation, and conic gradients. This is an early-stage Working Draft. The update includes a number of fixes as well as the addition of some new features: * color interpolation hints * two location syntax for gradient color stops * start angles for conic gradients * reorderable color stop syntax Significant changes are listed at: https://www.w3.org/TR/2017/WD-css-images-4-20170413/#changes Please review the draft, and send any comments to this mailing list, <www-style@w3.org>, prefixed with [css-images] (as I did on this message) or (preferably) file them in the GitHub repository at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues For the CSS WG, ~fantasai
