Web Storage (Second Edition) http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/CR-webstorage-20150609/\nnfeedback due by: 2015-07-07 Abstract This specification defines an API for persistent data storage of key-value pair data in Web clients. The W3C Web Applications Working Group is the W3C working group responsible for this specification's progress along the W3C Recommendation track. The Working Group expects to advance this specification to Recommendation status. This specification is expected to advance to Proposed Recommendation by 07 July 2015. To exit the Candidate Recommendation stage, the Web Applications Working Group will need to document a sufficient level of user-agent conformance with the requirements in the specification, as measured through the Test Suite for this spec. The following changes were made to this specification after Web Storage was published as a W3C Recommendation on 30 July 2013:The IDL of the Storage interface and the StorageEvent was updated. The getter of the Storage interface and the key of the StorageEvent are Nullable in this document; The security section in LocalStorage was removed. The original version claimed that user agents must throw a SecurityError whenever any of the members of a Storage object originally returned by the localStorage attribute are accessed by scripts whose effective script origin is not the same as the origin of the Document of the Window object on which the localStorage attribute was accessed. We expect the functionality specified in this CR (and the future PR/REC) will not be affected by changes to DOM4 or Web IDL as those specifications proceed to Recommendation. This document was produced by a group operating under the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy.
