It's interesting to see how the opposition to dissent against EME has progressed. Paraphrasing: * "what's this DRM thing all about then?" (I remember myself and others having to explain things like bit-rot, platform compatibility issues etc. to Jeff on his blog) * "EME is not DRM, really" * "you're breaking the rules by complaining" Note the progression here, and take heart. If people in power are complaining that dissenters are breaking the rules by dissenting, you know that the message is getting through, and that there is no rational counter-argument to it. All we need to do is keep up the pressure, and we might see an about-face from the W3C, just like we did a decade ago with patent-encumbered 'standards'. Let's make it a 'firestorm of criticism' too (I *love* that phrase). Tell your friends, especially your non-technical friends, about EME. I'm hoping to put in a brief word at the local Ruby meetup about it, tonight. -- Duncan Bayne ph: +61 420817082 | web: http://duncan-bayne.github.com/ | skype: duncan_bayne I usually check my mail every 24 - 48 hours.
