Ok, MS PlayReady is one example, but presumably there will be others? If MS provided PlayReady through EME, and Apple provided PlayBiggerBetterFaster (a made up) CDM through EME, and Ubuntu made a deal with someone to port a (non-OS) CDM, would Firefox then use EME? Or, (implied by your last sentence) would Firefox not use EME because the CDMs cannot be implemented on OS Software? -Alastair
