John, I'm going to ignore the ad-hominem component of your post, and attempt to explain my reasoning. 1. the sole purpose of EME is to interop with closed-source proprietary DRM blobs, a.k.a. CDMs 2. tone of the purposes of a CDM is to prevent media content (e.g. movies, audio, text) from being accessed by other software (e.g. a browser plugin that saves a streaming movie to disk) 3. accessibility tools like screen-readers rely entirely upon being able to access media content and shift it into a format accessible by disabled users 4. therefore, accessibility of content protected by CDMs will be limited Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of that. -- Duncan Bayne ph: +61 420817082 | web: http://duncan-bayne.github.com/ | skype: duncan_bayne
