Hi all, I gave a talk at Scala eXchange this week on the theme that is the title of this post. It packs in pretty much all my talks in the past few years on WebID, Web Authentication, LDP, with an emphasis on the advantages of banana-rdf for unifying the well known rdf libs such as Jena and Sesame, and how we are moving to do the same with various Javascript rdf libraries. ( which is work that is in progress but advancing nicely ) You should be able to see it here, after creating an account with skillsmatter and logging in. https://skillsmatter.com/skillscasts/5960-building-a-secure-distributed-social-web-using-scala-scala-js Hope that helps show how Scala-JS - which is gaining a lot of momentum, and which should gain more as it comes to be able to produce code that is faster than hand written JS - ties in with JavaScript. There is some really interesting work to do here by JS specialists in helping us build apis that work nicely for JS coders. This is what the best Scala libraries such as http://akka.io/ and https://playframework.com do with Java. The core of these libs is written in Scala, but they work hard to have good java interfaces for people who need to work in that environment. I think we are here reaching a great turning point where we can have the whole java* ecosystem come together again, All the best, Henry Story Social Web Architect http://bblfish.net/
