Right, so rather than write the ontology yourself, you want something that's already done that you can use? There are a few that comes to mind: - YAGO - OpenCyc - ConceptNet Also have a look at the list of vocabularies that are already expressed in SKOS: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/wiki/SKOS/Datasets you'll find LCC and DDC there.
