Hi folks, For those not familiar with JSON-LD: JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is a lightweight Linked Data format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. It is based on the already successful JSON format and provides a way to help JSON data interoperate at Web-scale. If you are already familiar with JSON, writing JSON-LD is very easy. There is a smooth migration path from the JSON you use today, to the JSON-LD you will use in the future. These properties make JSON-LD an ideal Linked Data interchange language for JavaScript environments, Web services, and unstructured databases such as CouchDB and MongoDB. We just launched the website today, it contains more explanation and the spec for JSON-LD: http://json-ld.org/ We've been designing and doing the preliminary work to transition all of our web services over to JSON-LD over the past two weeks. This is related to an open universal payment standard that we've been working on: http://digitalbazaar.com/2010/09/12/payswarm-api/ There's still much to do, but after some long design sessions with our internal team and Mark Birbeck, we've been able to get the spec to a point that we think is implementable and ready for the public to start looking at in more detail. Let us know what you think, and if you may want to help by writing some parsers and/or tools for JSON-LD in the coming months. -- manu -- Manu Sporny (skype: msporny, twitter: manusporny) President/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. blog: Making Payments Frictionless, Saving Journalism http://digitalbazaar.com/2010/09/12/payswarm-api/
