Official RDFa Response: ISSUE-89: 'term' vs. 'alias'

Nathan,

This is an official response to a 2nd Last Call issue that you raised
concerning the RDFa Core 1.1 and XHTML+RDFa 1.1 documents. The issue you
raised also had ramifications for the RDF Interfaces, RDF API and RDFa
API documents. The issue is being tracked here:

ISSUE-89: Decide what word we want to use to refer to the concept of
RDFa terms - 'term' or 'alias'
http://www.w3.org/2010/02/rdfa/track/issues/89

You had mentioned that the word 'alias' may be more accurate than the
word 'term' in referring to a new feature in RDFa 1.1 Profiles that
allows Web authors to use keywords instead of CURIEs in order to refer
to vocabulary terms.

The Working Group discussed the matter and found that 'term' is more
accurate and should be used over 'alias'. The discussion leading to the
decision and the resolution can be found here:

http://www.w3.org/2010/02/rdfa/meetings/2011-05-12#resolution_1

Since this is an official response to your concern, please respond and
let us know if this addresses your concerns as soon as possible.
