This is off-topic, but I can't let this sentence pass.

1. There's no basis for saying that views are generally read-only. They may or may not be updatable.

2. Views are not immutable. Something is immutable when its state will never change. The state of a view can change whenever the underlying base tables change, whether it is updatable or not.
