Or rather a conditional truth inferior to just plain (and universal) truth?

In another mail you gave the examples of 2+2=4 and sodium having number 11 (IIRC) in the periodic table as being just true, always. Those IMO are truths only if you subscribe to the theory they are founded on. Those theories claim universal truth independent of time but so does my theory that "gnurg etrepuff hoRxl, always and everywhere". If you don't believe in my theory or if arabic numbers or the periodic table are concepts that you find bewildering and not grounded in reality, those truths are not true to you. What is universal here are claims made by those theories. The truth values of assertions based on those theories depends on the truth value of those theories. I might differ on the applicability of all assertions based on the periodic table to the world I live in. I probably don't but on this condition depends my acceptance of this "truth". Now you can argue that you were simply speaking of mathematics and chemistry _as_ mathematics and chemistry, not applying it to the world we live in, but rather as self-contained theories. That then is a condition as well. Not a condition that we would normally expect to be stated explicitly, contrary e. g. to my theory on hoRxl's, but still a condition. We (maybe I should say "we") take that as given, a default so to say, and it would be nice if RDF provided some means to express such conditions if there is no agreed upon condition (or if we are unsure if there is). In a world of Pizza Gates and fake anything that might be a helpful thing even if one is not particularily invested in continental theory. In other words: the number and extent of theories about the world that everybody agreed on as true seems to get smaller rather than bigger and wider. I'd very much like RDF to be able to deal with that. Probably not to reason across different truth conditions - I'm not logician but nobody seems to think that the world at large and its semantic web are ripe for modal logic - but at least to express such conditions and query them so that I can understand how much two theories agree on and what can be concluded from such commonly agreed upon "truth". That alone could be quite helpful IMHO. There are quite some practical applications I believe, and ever more so the more the semantic web is not just used to express what we are already sure about and agree on and put our faith in, but also when used to help managing the very messy present: a new disease, an evolving natural desaster, an increasingly bewildering rift in society, this volatile and meandering and yet useful I believe discussion, etc.
