I didn't think we disagreed, it was just that a number of emails seemed to
be along the lines of "but we'll wait to see what Ben, Mark, et. al. think
about this", so I was giving my input. And I thought that whilst I was there
I'd explain the different permutations, since other implementers seemed to
be concerned about this.

By the way, you might have also forgotten that it was you who spotted the
flaw in the original algorithm! It was thanks to you that the recurse flag
was even added. :)

However, it would still be good to have official test cases added to the

Indeed. Although I was certain we had such tests, so this has come as a
surprise to me.
