Lee, Andy, Eric FYI... Ivan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RDF Data Access Working Group extended until 30 November 2007 Resent-Date: Wed, 30 May 2007 21:28:19 +0000 Resent-From: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Date: Wed, 30 May 2007 14:28:06 -0700 From: Susan Lesch <lesch@w3.org> Reply-To: w3c-ac-forum@w3.org To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org CC: Ralph R. Swick <swick@w3.org>, Ivan Herman <ivan@w3.org> Dear Advisory Committee Representative, The RDF Data Access Working Group [1] was chartered until the end of this month to specify a language querying an RDF graph and to define a protocol for query execution (over HTTP or SOAP). The protocol can return query results either as an RDF graph or as a table (using XML). The corresponding specifications are: 1) "SPARQL Query Language for RDF" (Last Call Working Draft) http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-query/ 2) "SPARQL Protocol for RDF" (Candidate Recommendation) http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-protocol/ 3) "SPARQL Query Results XML Format" (Candidate Recommendation) http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-XMLres/ Several implementations are already known to exist for all three specifications. The RDF Data Access Working Group is hereby extended until 30 November 2007 to enable them to complete their work by advancing all three specifications to Recommendation. More information about the RDF Data Access Working Group is available on the group's home page [1] and in the Semantic Web Activity Statement [2]. This extension follows section 6.2.5 of the W3C Process Document: http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/groups#charter-extension For Tim Berners-Lee, Director, Ralph Swick, Technology and Society Domain Leader, and Ivan Herman, Semantic Web Activity Lead; Susan Lesch, W3C Communications Team [1] http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/ [2] http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/Activity.html -- Ivan Herman, W3C Semantic Web Activity Lead URL: http://www.w3.org/People/Ivan/ PGP Key: http://www.cwi.nl/%7Eivan/AboutMe/pgpkey.html FOAF: http://www.ivan-herman.net/foaf.rdf
