<kendallclark> including me :>

<kendallclark> I think there were at least 3 sparql talks proposed, and the one they accepted seemed odd (to be the only one, I mean)

<DanC_lap> phpht

<afs_> me having wireless iffy-ness

convene (or cancel), take roll, review records and agenda

<DanC_lap> Jeen, is protocol testing update worth time on the agenda?

<jeen> not really, virtually no progress on that, unfortunately.

<DanC_lap> checking calendar, we've got to decide today if we're going to publish before the AC meeting. hmm.

<kendallclark> Hey, "they" misspelled my name for a year ;>

<ericP> last meeting minutes: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2005OctDec/0193.html

<ericP> as amended by http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2005OctDec/0198.html

<ericP> PROPOSED: accept http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2005OctDec/0193 and http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2005OctDec/0198 as a true record

<ericP> APPROVED

<ericP> next meeting: 22 november

<DanC_lap> partial regrets andys for 22 nov

<ericP> next meeting scribe: KendallC

<patH> Today I need to leave in about an hour from now.

<SteveH> i have probably regrests for next week, il be at wise2005

decimal vs float for 0.3

<ericP> http://unagi/2001/sw/DataAccess/rq23/#QTSynLiterals

<ericP> [[

<ericP> floating point numbers can also be directly written and are interpreted as xsd:double.

<ericP> ]]

Most are in favor of decimal as opposed to float. There were no objections for decimal.

SteveH: points out that Turtle uses float.

<SteveH> double

<ericP> PROPOSED: change dataytpe for SPARQL floating point numerics to xsd:decimal contingent on a similar change in Turtle.

<DanC_lap> in particular, Beckett's agreement

<ericP> APPROVED -- no objections, no abstentions

<DanC_lap> ACTION: DanC to ask DaveB about turtle [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/11/15-dawg-minutes.html#action01]

<AndyS> ACTION: AndyS to update rq23 to reflect double => decimal [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2005/11/15-dawg-minutes.html#action02]

issues#valueTesting (DATATYPE test case thread)

<AndyS> (section 2.1.2, grammar, example in sec 3, check rest esp sec 11)

<DanC_lap> return type of DATATYPE

<ericP> http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-rdf-concepts-20040210/#dfn-typed-literal

<DanC_lap> oops! s/xsd:Datatype/rdfs:Datatype/

ericP: DATATYPE returns the datatype not the name of the datatype.
... i.e. DATATYPE() returns xsd:integer as opposed to "http://....#integer"^^xsd:anyURI

<AndyS> http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath20/#id-ebv

<kendallclark> hmm, for $10 I could fake a seizure after unmuting myself... Would that do it?

<kendallclark> tough crowd!

I'll give you $5

<kendallclark> I could describe the details of my dr's appointment... :>

<AndyS> filter(<xsd:string>)

<ericP> http://www.w3.org/TR/xquery/#dt-ebv [[

<ericP> Under certain circumstances (listed below), it is necessary to find the effective boolean value of a value. [Definition: The effective boolean value of a value is defined as the result of applying the fn:boolean function to the value, as defined in [XQuery 1.0 and XPath 2.0 Functions and Operators].]

<ericP> ]]

<AndyS> fn:boolean() is not xsd:boolean cast

<ericP> FILTER DATATYPE(?a)

<ericP> ?a => "asdf"^^jkl:qewr

<kendallclark> -sigh-

<ericP> ?a => "asdf"^^xsd:string

<ericP> FILTER DATATYPE(?a)

<DanC_lap> (in the interest of time, I'm inclined to re-open valueTesting, note that in the document (status), and move this meeting on to the publication question)

<patH> is kendall still breathing?

<kendallclark> YES

<AndyS> EricP - more after this call?

<patH> phew, thats a relief.

<kendallclark> :>

<kendallclark> I'm fine w/ publishing w/out more eyeballs on it.

<DanC_lap> PROPOSED: to publish 1.538 + EBV/valueTesting note, plus rdfs:Datatype/DATATYPE change in table, ...

<DanC_lap> PROPOSED: to publish 1.538 + EBV/valueTesting note, plus rdfs:Datatype/DATATYPE change in table, DATATYPE("abc")=string? note

<DanC_lap> PROPOSED: to publish 1.538 + EBV/valueTesting note, plus rdfs:Datatype/DATATYPE change in table, DATATYPE("abc")=string? note, plus, we hope, edited changelog by DanC

<DanC_lap> so RESOLVED.
