The productions for PN_CHARS_U are different between Turtle/TriG and N-Triples/N-Quads - this is visible in blank node labels. N-triples is supposed to be subset of Turtle but it include ":" in blank node labels via -- Turtle/TriG [164s] PN_CHARS_U ::= PN_CHARS_BASE | '_' N-Triples/N-Quads: [158s] PN_CHARS_U ::= PN_CHARS_BASE | '_' | ':' It looks like updating NT and NQ was overlooked because this was reported in RDF-WG: Report (2012): https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-comments/2012Jul/0006.html RDF-WG Announcement of Fix (2012): https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-wg/2012Jul/0037.html rdf-tests is the community maintaining the RDF and SPARQL test suites. https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-tests/2022Mar/0000.html Thanks to @Hendrikto for spotting this and to Gavin for finding the email trail from the archives.
