Yes, in a sense they are.  But the problem is that they are violations 
of a higher level goal of the Semantic Web -- not violations of RDF 
Semantics.  That is why, to my mind, it is important to craft wording 
that both: (a) encourages people toward that higher level goal; and (b) 
acknowledges that RDF by itself will *not* magically cause that goal to 
be reached.
