AW: RAX Position Paper

Dear all,

thanks for your comments and thoughts on our paper draft.

It seems that there are currently no resources in the group available to work out this draft in a collaborative way.
I propose to postpone this work until after the summer break and I hope that we will find a small group in autumn and that we can head then for e.g. XML Prague for submission.

I wish you all a pleasant summer break and hopefully some nice days off for vacation.

I will set up a new call for the second half of September.

Best
Christian

+1. This then also could help to have less discussions on "technology X vs. technology Z".

I could be an editor, but my industry background is still weak. It would be better to have non academic editors for this.

as a comment/suggestion from the viewpoint of the local organizer and former iswc industry track chair this submission should be - obviously - driven by industry authors and cases.

Dear Team,

we agreed during our last call that we would submit a position paper for ISWC conference.
This position paper needs to be submitted in the industry track call and deadline is 20th July.

We need to write a two-pager about “Potential strategic applications and use cases”.

In my point of view we could argue that we need to extend common XML content management and production pipelines with semantic web standards, esp. RDF. This would lead to more flexible and yet sustainable environments and would result in a much broader usage of RDF standards and tools.

I am personally not familiar with position papers, but in general I would make the following parts:
Thesis (the one above)
Motivation (problem statements)
State of the Art
Approaches and outlook

So we need editors for these parts and we need someone who can handle the final layout and upload on easychair.

I think that based on the material we have, this should not be too hard to achieve. So please send a short mail to this group, in case you want to be an editor or layouter for this submission until next Tuesday EOB.

Then we will start writing and will hopefully have a draft by next Friday.

Thanks for your support!
