Including license text in validator tarballs

Hi,

I think it would be a good thing to include the actual license text of the 
validator in its source tarballs, see for example:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/LicensingGuidelines#License_Text

The license text is available at http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/copyright-
software, but how should it be included?  Would creating a plain text version 
of that by copy-pasting its contents into a separate file be acceptable?
