Hi Bjoern,
After a quick look at the markup used by the markup validator's news
page, I think it should be feasible to create the XSLT for the creation
of a RSS feed without any change on the markup. That said, if such
changes are useful (e.g give the <dl> an id, use span for the dates,
etc), feel free to request them (or apply them).
Also probably worth a look is the XSLT used for (e.g) the QA news and
the W3C software news:
