I watched / listened / took notes of the part 1 of the training, and found it to be an excellent resource. I suspect other individuals, whether new to chairing or have been for sometime, will recognise its value as well. What stood out to me was the presentation's emphasis on aspects that can sometimes be overlooked amidst various responsibilities - qualities and abilities necessary for an effective chair, which are not extensively documented within vicinity. Anything from demonstrating empathy and a genuine understanding of individuals' needs and concerns, to knowing when to seek assistance (either for the others or self), and to establishing and maintaining a constructive and safe environment.
