Subject: Public Comment on Proposed DCMI Term: Accessibility Note

Dear All, I hope this is appropriate for this list and relevant to those of you with an interest in metadata and accessibility.

I would like to share the information that DCMI (Dublin Core Metadata Initiative) is proposing to add a term for "Accessibility Note" to the Dublin Core Terms vocabulary. The proposal and information on how to comment on that proposal is here: https://www.dublincore.org/news/2026/01-21_accessibility-note-comment/ The closing date for comments is 22 February.

In short, the proposal is allows for a "A statement describing features or deficiencies of a resource that enhance or impede its usability and accessibility" to be added using the property dcterms:accessibilityNote.

Further details and information on how to comment is provided at the link above.

Best regards, Phil Barker

[Re-introduction: I have lurked on this list for a long time, I doubt you know me. I am an independent consultant with an interest in metadata and learning resources, especially metadata about learning resources.]
