Dear Colleagues, here are the minutes for our last plenary on 2026-04-23 Protect and Defend Your Content in the Emerging AI Era <https://w3c.github.io/publishingcg/Meetings/Minutes/2026-04-23-publishingcg.html> . Here is a short resume: Anna (1D345) presented an automated language analysis solution for the scholarly publishing workflow, covering plagiarism, AI content detection, paper mill markers, and future bibliography checks. Titusz introduced ISCC, an ISO-standardised, vendor-neutral content code, its Discovery Protocol, and a demo indexing 3 million book covers. He showed how Amlet uses ISCC and the TDM Reservation Protocol to signal content availability for text and data mining (including translations/excerpts). Sebastian reported on anti-counterfeiting, noting the rise of illegitimate print/digital editions (republications, altered content) and stressing the need for standard, interoperable ways to identify authoritative works and track fraudulent ones. Discussion highlighted that technical solutions exist (fingerprinting, similarity detection, metadata analysis), but platforms lack incentives, leaving enforcement to publishers. The group emphasised the complementarity of publisher-side verification and distribution-level monitoring, stressing the importance of collective action to implement these tools and engage major platforms. ------------------------------ *Gautier Chomel * *Head of Accessibility **& Quality Management* European Digital Reading Lab <http://www.edrlab.org/> | +33 6 77 32 96 98 | Schedule short meeting <https://calendar.app.google/wDrEGetrh5JK2NH3A> On Sun, 19 Apr 2026 at 12:19, Wolfgang Schindler (W3C Calendar) < noreply+calendar@w3.org> wrote: > View this event in your browser > <https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/e8db6aeb-2732-4008-9637-fa818acbcfdb/20260423T120000/> > Publishing Community Group Plenary: Protect and Defend Your Content in the > Emerging AI Era Upcoming Confirmed > > 23 April 2026, 16:00 -17:00 Etc/UTC > > Event is recurring Monthly on Thursday, but only the 4th instance of this > set, starting from 26 February 2026, until 20 December 2026 > Publishing Business Group > <https://www.w3.org/groups/bg/publishingbg/calendar/> > Publishing Community Group > <https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/publishingcg/calendar/> > > Dear colleagues, > > You are cordially invited to our Community Group plenary on *23 April at > 16:00 UTC (18:00 CEST)* to discuss anti-counterfeit options for > publishers. > > We will host presentations of available services by > > - > > Anna Berthod (1D345 Compilatio - https://www.compilatio.net/), > - > > Giacomo D’Angelo (Amlet - https://amlet.ai/) and > - > > Sebastian Posth (Liccium - https://liccium.com) > > and explore practical approaches to detection, response, and prevention. > > We look forward to your participation! > > Best regards, > Gautier and Wolfgang > Agenda > Agenda <https://w3c.github.io/publishingcg/Meetings/Agenda/> > Joining Instructions > > Join the meeting > <https://mit.zoom.us/j/95660594626?pwd=Sy9Sdm1VTFlGTFdRMEswZXRQWG5HUT09> > Chat > > #publishingcg > Participants Organizers > > - Gautier Chomel > - Wolfgang Schindler > > Groups > > - Publishing Business Group > <https://www.w3.org/groups/bg/publishingbg/> (View Calendar > <https://www.w3.org/groups/bg/publishingbg/calendar/>) > - Publishing Community Group > <https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/publishingcg/> (View Calendar > <https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/publishingcg/calendar/>) > > Report feedback and issues on GitHub <https://github.com/w3c/calendar>. > To stop receiving these emails please update your calendar preferences > <https://www.w3.org/users/myprofile/calendar/preferences/>. >
