Dear Wolfgang, Thank you for the warm welcome, I am very excited about participating in the working group. About myself, by education I am a mathematician, for a long time I did research in (pure) mathematics. I work for the publishing house of the European Mathematical Society, where we publish research level books and journals exclusively in mathematics. Here I run production, so I have been in charge for the development of the accessibly workflow (in strong collaboration with the Tech Department). Naturally, my main field of interest within the huge topic of accessibility is accessible mathematics: – conversion of LaTeX to MathML (aiming at meticulously tagged JATS xml), – rendering MathML to broadly accessible output (for users with and without special needs, with and without advanced assistive technologies). Certainly, I am also keen to learn about other aspects like accessible design, best practices in alt-texts and so on. I hope that I will be able to contribute to the group's efforts. Besides the plenary session, we have task forces where all colleagues with a special interest in a certain topic join in investigating it in more detail during regular online sessions. Currently, there are 3 active task forces, namely the Accessibility TF (A11Y), the Anti-Counterfeiting TF and the Fixed Layout-Accessibility TF (FXL-A11Y). If another topic would gain sufficient traction among our members, we may easily set up a further task force. > > It would be nice if you could just give us some information on your background, your experiences and your interests and if you like, also any topics you would like to discuss with us. > > Have a nice day! > > Best regards > > Wolfgang
