R: [a11y] Minutes of Accessibility TF call (Publishing CG) held on May 22, 2025

Dear all,
as agreed during the call I have retrieved the two issues in the Ace repository related to optional accessibility metadata in EPUBs:

  *   Discrepancy in accessModeSufficient Metadata Requirement: https://github.com/daisy/ace/issues/400

  *   Discrepancy in accessibilitySummary Metadata Requirement: https://github.com/daisy/ace/issues/389


The discrepancy is related to the fact that the software reports as errors the lack of accessibility metadata that is not mandatory for the EPUB Accessibility 1.1 specification (https://www.w3.org/TR/epub-a11y-11/#sec-disc-package).

As we wished in the last meeting, we would like to discuss these issues in the GitHub tracker, listening to the thoughts of the community. I dont’ have the permissions to reopen the two issues, which are closed, but we can still comment on them, hoping that the repository maintainers will reopen them for us shortly 😊.
