Everyone: We launched the PCG Education Taskforce last September with the goal of answering the question: "What does Education want from the Web?" Since then we've had some interesting and lively discussions, brought forth some use cases around accessibility, storing and manipulating annotations independently of a Reading System, extracting sub-sections of an EPUB, and immersive content in scholarly publishing. We've also seen some demos of exciting and innovative ways members of our community are creating engaging, interactive content in web and EPUB based products. But on the whole, the answer to the question: "what does education want from the web?" is "not much". Addressing some of the use cases requires support from third party platforms like eReaders, for others the solutions do exist but are just not well known or socialized. And while we've brought forth a few use cases to the PCG we've struggled over the last several months to advance any new ones, so it's time to bring this task force to an end. I want to thank those who were regular participants in the PCG-Edu-TF meetings and who brought forth use cases. I really enjoyed the engaging sessions and learned some new and exciting things. Special shout-out to Susan Neuman for acting as scribe on several meetings and taking extraordinarily accurate notes, and to Charles L and Tzviya for helping me navigate irc. It's been a pleasure leading this task force, and I look forward to further engaging discussions in the PCG. All my best, *Paul*
