[PBG] W3C Publishing Business Group Meeting Agenda

Hello Publishing Business Group members,

In order to get in one last call before the end of 2021, we are planning to hold 2 calls with the same agenda on the same day next week,  Tuesday, December 21st/Wednesday, December 22nd, to be held via the Zoom link in the meeting invite. Please join us for the one that works best for your timezone if you can and send along emails with your thoughts if you can’t join. The agenda for the calls is below.

  *   Discuss FXL + Reflow

     *   We would like to send this to the Community Group to take up for discussion and testing
     *   Please consider: Any business needs for and content categories that will benefit from this form of mixed content
     *   Your organization’s willingness to put forward test content, talk about use cases, or supply technical resources for a CG task force to see how far we can get with current EPUB
     *   Collecting issues and use cases

  *   Annotations and possible business use cases for them

     *   As we think about the future of annotations and how they can be used, please consider if there are business opportunities you might find interesting:
        *   Sharing between readers?
        *   Selling notes from an expert?
        *   What else?


  *   Discuss Accessibility and impact of moral rights issues raised in Europe

     *   Some countries have raised concerns about who will do this work as we look at moving forward with EAA requirements and whether that in any way conflicts with “moral rights” for authors in certain territories


  *   Other issues to discuss or carry forward:

     *   Positive trend of publishing markets - US/Japan/Europe

     *   PBG Conference Day:

        *   02/01/2022 7pm EST – 02/02/2022 9am JST [3]
        *   90-minute sessions with 2-3 presentations and breakout discussion at the end
        *   Topics to be finalized first week in Jan., but we are hoping to address Education and Comics/Manga/Graphic Novels around the world
