Hello Publishing Business Group, Raising money for a tool like epubcheck was never going to be easy but we're nearly a third of the way to our goal already. The next two thirds are a steep climb and are going to require all of us to put in a serious commitment to fundraising. I've started to gather the names of organizations I've reached out to, their contacts, who reached out, and the status of their potential donation. The next steps are for you. Log in and add: - Who have you reached out to? - What is the status of their donations? - Do you need backup or someone else to help followup? - Do you have suggestions for who to reach out to that you can't contact yourself? - Do you have contacts at some of the orgs listed here that you can add? - Can you claim some of these orgs to chase them down for donations? - Are there more orgs you can suggest? This type of fundraising requires more direct outreach - the waiting game won't work in our favor. If each of us set a goal of bringing in a certain number of donations - 2, 3, 5 - and pursue those goals, we have a much better chance of getting the funds we need to update epubcheck.
