PROPOSED AGENDA - Publishing BG Meeting 1/30/2018

1.	Finalize / call for participation in new BG task forces

Aulg/edit>
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jpw0KA9StAnWZAaIMqnITmdSOchIZeQIvphX5AmA
ulg/edit - we will discuss how to sign up, and expected means of
communication and collaboration

2.	Election of New PBG Steering Committee

Per previous discussions, it is proposed to restructure the PBG Steering
Committee (SC) as a cross-group coordination body consisting of the
co-chairs of the Pub BG, Pub WG, and EPUB 3 CG plus leads of certain task
forces of the BG. Strategic decisions will be taken in the BG as a whole,
not by the SC. The co-chairs therefore propose the BG elect, by consensus, a
SC slate, to serve a one-year term (to be considered resigned if their
chair/lead responsibilities change) consisting of:

Ric Johnson (Ingram / VitalSource) - co-chair Publishing BG

Liisa McCloy-Kelley (Penguin Random House) - co-chair Publishing
BG
Luc Audrain (Hachette Livre) - co-chair Publishing BG

Dave Cramer (Hachette Book Group) - co-chair EPUB 3 CG

Rachel Comerford (Macmillan Learning) - co-chair EPUB 3 CG

Tzivya Siegman (Wiley) - co-chair Publishing WG

Garth Conboy (Google) - co-chair Publishing WG

George Kerscher (DAISY) - co-lead, PBG a11y task force

Bill Kasdorf (Apex) - co-lead, PBG external coordination task
force

Daihei Shiohama (Media Do) - co-lead, PBG external coordination
task force

Again the expectation is that the SC will primarily do coordination between
the groups, and we believe that a smaller size than the current SC
(nominally 14 members) will be helpful to efficiency.

3.	Announcement - Digital Publishing Summit Europe 2018 organized by
EDRLab with W3C
4.	Discussion- EPUBCheck funding
5.	Discussion - Next meeting(s) frequency and timing
