Some folks have been understandably confused about how to handle registering for both TPAC and the Publishing Summit, including when and what discount code to use for the latter. To clarify: 1. If you want to attend mainly the Publishing Summit on Thurs-Fri, and TPAC other days, W3C recommends that you register for Publishing Summit, not TPAC Thurs/Fri. The TPAC-attending discount code (available in the WBS form for TPAC registration) is cheaper ($199) than two days of TPAC so this saves you money! And it will guarantee you a seat at the Publishing Summit, which may well sell out. You can still register and attend other TPAC meetings on Thurs/Fri (but the Publishing Summit registration doesn't include a lunch ticket for Friday so if you need lunch, W3C requests that you also register for Friday, which will also help defray W3C TPAC costs). 2. If you want to drop in on the Publishing Summit while mainly doing other TPAC things you can register for TPAC Thurs and/or Fri, but TPAC attendees not registered for the Publishing Summit will be able to participate only on a space-available basis. If we sell out (likely) we will need to prioritize accommodating those who have specifically registered (hence the recommendation above). 3. If you accidentally registered for Mon-Fri of TPAC but really want to be in the Publishing Summit (and don't want to pay for both), please contact Veronica Thom so we can get that straightened out. 4. If you have colleagues at your organization not attending TPAC who may want to come to the Publishing Summit, please share the general member discount code ($299) also available in the WBS form for TPAC registration, not the TPAC attendee code (that is only for those attending other day(s) of TPAC). Note that if they are members of the Publishing Business Group it is OK for them to stay for the PBG meeting Friday afternoon, they don't need to register for TPAC at all (but if they want a lunch ticket they can register for TPAC for Friday only and then use the TPAC-attendee discount code, which will total only $34 more than the general member discount price). Again as per earlier emails the Publishing Summit is co-located with TPAC 2017 but is not part of TPAC per se, and we have optimized the registration for the public not for TPAC participants. Apologies for the extra steps and confusion this has created for those who are also doing TPAC. Feel free to direct any further questions about this to me. Thanks, --Bill
