Hi, Jason! Really glad you’re joining the group. Will you, and/or perhaps Maurice, also be joining the Working Group? I hope so! [PBG folks: Jason’s colleague Maurice York will be presenting at the Summit on the things Jason mentioned.] --Bill K Bill Kasdorf VP and Principal Consultant | Apex CoVantage p: 734-904-6252 m: 734-904-6252 ISNI: http://isni.org/isni/0000000116490786 ORCiD: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7002-4786<https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7002-4786?lang=en> From: Jason Colman [mailto:taftman@umich.edu] Sent: Wednesday, August 16, 2017 2:53 PM To: public-publishingbg@w3.org Subject: Hello All, Just wanted to introduce myself briefly as I’ve joined the publishing business group. I direct the Publishing Services unit in the University of Michigan Library (we’ve just joined through the TPI membership option) and serve as the Library’s AC member. In this context, I’m particularly interested in accessibility, sustainability, and preservation issues for EPUB-based publishing. We at Michigan continue to develop our Mellon-funded digital publishing platform, Fulcrum<http://fulcrum.org>, which is based on the Samvera/Fedora framework and aimed particularly at the needs of University Presses and Library publishers and will be using EPUB 3 as the underlying format in its repository. I’m afraid that I have a standing conflict on Tuesday noon for the Group’s calls, but I will try to stay abreast of the conversation and contribute as I can. Best wishes, Jason — Jason Colman Director, Michigan Publishing Services University of Michigan Library 734.647.6017
