RE: AB election

Dear Tzviya and SC,

We have Tzviya on the AB for at least another year. I do feel that having
another person or two would be excellent for publishing at the W3C. However,
having two candidates has potential to divide votes between the two and not
having enough votes for either candidate.

I would like to add that the DAISY management discussed Avneesh running for
the AB for another term extensively. We support his running, because we
believe that accessibility in publishing is essential and, of course,
Avneesh is ideal for driving that forward. We all know how strong Avneesh is
strategically, and over the next few years, the W3C will need to be spot on
strategically. Finally, we feel that Avneesh is very electable, because
he brings diversity, a developing countries international perspective, , and
four years of experience on the AB as it moved to become an independent
entity.

Best

George

Subject: AB election

Hi SC,

We are in the nomination period for an AB election. Avneesh has served on
the AB for several years. Wendy has been nominated by TetraLogical for the
AB. Avneesh and I were speaking earlier today, and we decided to put the
question to you - do we think that the publishing community (and
accessibility community) can elect 2 candidates. The voting mechanism is
complicated, and we don't yet know how many candidates for the 6 seats. I do
have some information from other potential candidates that leads me to
believe that, like the special election held a few months ago, this will be
highly competitive.

Thank you,

Tzviya

Tzviya Siegman
