I received a private note from Phil Archer. The bits that are relevant to our work in the CG are excerpted below: ---------------------------------------------- At present we're not seeing a strong enough demand for a new WG in this area. *However* that situation could well change once the Member Submission or CG Report is completed. Our job is to respond to the demands of our members ... I know this is not the 100% positive message you're after, but neither is it 100% in the other direction. One thing that is worth highlighting to you here is that we're in the early stages of considering a workshop within the next 12 months with the general topic of "Behind the Web" - that is, data management systems that are important aspects of the Web infrastructure but that don't necessarily touch on the HTML5 developer world. This is something Liam Quin and I are looking at and it would specifically encourage new technologies as well as combinations of existing ones (RDF and XML people, as the obvious example). Property Graphs, and other graph systems, would fit into that stream. In other words, we're trying to respond as best we can. Cheers for now Phil. - All the best, Ashok
