Re: Agenda: Pronunciation Task Force Teleconference- Wednesday, 2019-02-20

I have shoulder surgery tomorrow and won't be able to make the call.

My intro: I'm a developer. I work remotely for Deque in product development
from my home in Connecticut. I have a wife and 16yo daughter. My daughter
studies obscure languages like Welsh and Icelandic and a close friend is a
Modern Irish scholar (https://xn--lamh-bpa.org/) trying to teach others
online. So, my personal goals for this group:
- I'd like to help ensure that our work supports language learners in a
variety of circumstances, like my daughter and friend.
- My last name is pronounced at least 3 different ways depending on who
says it. I'd like to extend vCard/hCard markup patterns to include how to
pronounce someone's name.
- I would also love to hear literary works read in different voices
complete with accents, dialects, and natural cadence. While it might be
time consuming to code, I think the work of our group should make it
possible.

My (early) proposal patterns: https://quiet-collar.glitch.me/
